Steelie #53, The Third Ever literary issue of The Steelhead Special returns to its roots of essays and poetry, fiction and reviews, sharp illustrations and revealing pictures. - JS

Steelie #52, the What Works for Youth issue, officially entitled Shakers and Learners, Actors and Earners. This one is special because it highlights the relationships between young people that are hungry to participate in something that feeds them, and adults who are happy to feed. May it inspire you to see some teen ager somewhere as a potential computer engineer or aspiring actor, artist or radio programmer, someone with potential to reach out and touch the lives of many. - JS

A Note From Publisher
Joe Shermis
Welcome to the web site of The Steelhead Special! We are here offering the latest, #53 as well as back issues; more to come when we start scanning in the non-computerized ones that reach back to April, 1991. Feedback always appreciated, even if you disagree, reminisces indulged, submissions encouraged, and hard copies of most back issues can be made available for a small contribution if you contact at steelie@asis.com.
The Steelie has always been free to readers, so if you'd like to support one of the very few remaining independent publications in Humboldt County, CA, please click here to make a tax deductible donation (via our program sponsor, The Ink People). You can also support us by patronizing our sponsors and letting them know you saw their ad in the Steelie or on this site.
Thanks,
Joe
